You helped us collect 3.5 Million signatures against TTIP & CETA. Thanks to your constant commitment, #TTIP looks now weaker than ever. However, the European Commission and our governments are trying to push through #CETA, the trade deal with Canada, which is just as toxic as its bigger brother TTIP. So let's make sure they can't do this while nobody is looking, let's bring that debate into the open, let's do the CETA CHECK!Do the CETA Check!_ Why should you worry about CETA? It is at a much more advanced stage than TTIP. After the European Commission completed negotiations with Canada in February, the treaty’s text will soon be put forward to the 28 trade ministers in the EU-Council and, later this year, to the European Parliament (EP). So, it is vital right now that you spread the word about the issues you care about and to let the decision makers know how you stand. Our governments and the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) need to learn what you think about CETA!

Via our easy-to-use tool you can ask your MEP questions about CETA as well as rate and share their answers with your friends. If you do not receive an answer, you can use the online tool to organise meetings, protests or other actions to create a more transparent dialogue with your representatives!

Contacting your MEP means asking them questions and joining with others doing the same. When you address your MEP or even decide to meet him/her, citizens all across the EU will also be asking questions or organizing such meetings alongside you! Don't worry about not being a trade expert. We do this together. Armed with your conviction, passion and common sense you will be a force to be reckoned with!

EU-Kanada -kauppasopimus CETA saattaa vaikuttaa viattomalta sen isoveljeen, TTIP-sopimukseen verrattuna, mutta se sisältää samoja uhkia. Sopimus tulisi voimaan astuessaan vaikuttamaan kaikkiin EU:n kansalaisiin tavalla tai toisella, olipa se sitten ruuan tai terveydenhoitokulujen kautta. CETA tulisi alentamaan standardeja, nakertamaan demokratiaa ja heikentämään lainsäädäntöä. CETA:sta tulee keskustella juuri nyt, sillä sopimus on paljon pidemmällä kuin TTIP. Euroopan komissio ja Kanada saivat neuvottelut päätökseen helmikuussa, ja sopimusteksti tulee pian kauppaministereiden käsittelyyn Euroopan unionin neuvostossa ja myöhemmin tänä vuonna Euroopan parlamenttiin. Aika ennen näitä käsittelyitä on käytettävä hyvin. Poliitikoille on tehtävä selväksi sopimukseen liittyvät ongelmat ja huolet sekä se, että ihmiset ovat kiinnostuneita asiasta. Hallitusten ja Euroopan parlamentin on viimeistään nyt kuultava kriittisiä ääniä. On aika ottaa yhteyttä Euroopan parlamentin jäseniin, ja kysyä heiltä epämiellyttäviä kysymyksiä.
