Architectural Democracy proposes a framework to explore the relationships between architecture and democracy. The proposed matrix creates common ground for diverse stakeholders to better understand the complexity of cities, and thus to participate more actively in it. It is argued that this process provides a structured tool to evaluate the quality of both architecture and democracy. It contextualizes the concept of ‘Architectural Democracy’ and gives the possibility to gather data from both citizens and experts, and to later develop it into a quantifiable set of metrics.
architecture, democracy, digitization, open systems, smart city, right to the city

This is part of an ongoing Doctoral research work, and as any PhD, its claims are new, so attending this lecture will give you a completely new take on some pressing societal issues.
CAN THIS TOPIC AND LECTURES FOSTER PARTNERSHIPS?
These lectures are part not only of a PhD Research but already of a larger group of professionals who have been implementing on field some new ideas. For example in opening the facades of buildings or making low cost 3D of our homes for open source usage.
We are thus most happy to pursue partnerships at both research and industry level and return to give further talks on this and related matters.
